Come and enjoy the water sports in Pont-Réan, alone, with family or friends!
Come and experience the gentle Vilaine River by canoe, kayak, or paddleboard, whatever you prefer. Departure from the Pont-Réan lock house for a trip upstream from the bridge.
Carried by the current, you can stroll and admire the dragonflies, water lilies, and kingfishers. A short detour to the Seiche will offer you a setting worthy of Monet's Water Lilies.
On this calm and accessible river, you can rent canoes, kayaks or paddleboards every afternoon from May 1st to September 30th :
- In May, June and September: weekends and public holidays, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- In July and August: every day except Monday , from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Due to the work currently being carried out on the Boël dam, the water level between the Pont-Réan bridge and the Boël is very low. For this reason, during the 2025 season, we are unfortunately unable to offer you our trips to the Boël. The circuits proposed below are therefore located upstream of the Pont-Réan lock, in the direction of Rennes.
There are several options to choose from:
- The 1-hour Tour de l'île sauvage (Tour of the wild island) takes you around the wild island to admire the Pont-Réan flour mill and its millstream.
- The 2-hour route will take you as far as the Blossac lock and, on the way back, around the Ile Sauvage.
- The 3-hour route will take you as far as the Mons lock, the first stone lock in the town of Bruz, and on the way back around the Ile Sauvage.
Depending on the water level, you may be able to finish your trip by going over the guard-rail (accessible to children in canoes without any problems), and then slaloming around the Pont-Réan bridge, listed as a Historic Monument. In this case, you will have to carry your boat about 150 metres from the pontoon downstream of the lock to your starting point.
- If you don't want to take one of our routes, you can simply stroll along the water at your own pace or try your hand at paddle boarding.
